CoEEM tribute to Professor Daniel Pope 1973-2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our friend and colleague Professor Dan Pope. Dan passed away peacefully after a short illness with his family at his side on the 13th May at the age of just 50 years.
Dan leaves behind a huge hole in a stunned CoEEM community of which he was the modelling technical lead. He was a truly unique character, possessing an incredible amount of energy, and he had an immediate presence in any room he entered. Dan worked right to the end to bring people from different corners of the energetics community together to make a shared vision a reality. He was hugely respected world-wide and the week he died he was due to host meetings with subject matter experts from the US and Australia.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Dan’s family, friends and colleagues. The Defence Scientific community has lost an exceptional friend and colleague.
